From the Igbo word onye nche: the watchman who never sleeps.

NCHE

Hears trouble in your poultry house before you can see it.

Nche watches the heat, air, water, light and sound of every house, day and night, and tells the right person while there’s still time to act. Fewer birds lost, healthier flocks, and a record that proves how well your farm is run.

Inside the box

One box. Six senses. Built for a poultry house.

Dust, ammonia, wash-downs and power cuts ruin ordinary electronics. Nche is sealed, drains downwards and runs on a battery you can swap in seconds, so it keeps watching when everything else stops.

Inside: heat, humidity, ammonia, light and a microphone that listens to your flock. A water meter on the drinker line makes six.

Drag the device to turn it, or open it with the buttons below to see every part.

Meet the farm

Two houses. Eight Nche units. Nothing missed.

House A holds broilers on deep litter. House B holds layers in cages. Nche works in both, and in any poultry house, anywhere.

Follow the farm manager on the morning round and see what Nche catches.

House A · Broilers on deep litter

It lives where your birds live.

A thermometer by the door doesn’t tell you what your birds feel. Nche stands at bird height, breathes the same air as the flock and checks it every minute of the day and night, because broilers that grow fast also suffer fast.

Sense 1 · Heat

One hot afternoon can wipe out a week’s profit.

Heavy broilers struggle once a house passes about 30 °C. They stop eating, stop growing, and on a bad afternoon start dying within hours. Nche warns you when the house is warming too fast, not after it’s already too hot.

Example reading · House A31.6 °Crising 1.2° an hour
Sense 2 · Humidity

Wet litter is where flocks quietly go wrong.

Damp air soaks the litter, wet litter feeds ammonia and disease, and humid heat is harder for birds to shed. Nche tells you when the air is turning damp, so you ventilate before the litter turns.

Example reading · House A84 %humidity · litter at risk
Sense 3 · Ammonia

You stop smelling ammonia. Your birds don’t.

Ammonia burns birds’ eyes and lungs and slows their growth. People stop noticing it after a few minutes in the house, long before it’s safe. Nche never stops noticing, and tells you when to open up.

Example reading · House A27 ppmabove safe level since 2 AM
Sense 4 · Water

The first sign of trouble is a quieter drinker line.

Birds drink about twice what they eat. When water use drops, something is wrong: a blocked line, a failed pump or a flock getting sick. Nche counts every drink, so you hear about it the same day.

Example reading · House A, drinker line 2−22 %water use since yesterday
Big houses get a team

Big houses. One connection.

One Nche unit covers about 500 to 1,000 birds, so a large house gets several. They pass readings to each other down the house, and the unit by the door sends everything online.

You only need internet in one corner of the farm.

Example · House A3,500 broilers→ 4 Nche units, 1 connection
Next door · House B

Every row, every tier, heard.

In layer houses, each Nche unit hangs from the cage frame over the aisle, where it breathes the same air and hears every row on both sides. House B joins the same network as House A, so the whole farm reports as one.

Sense 5 · Light

Lost light means lost eggs.

Layers need a steady day length, around 16 hours, to keep producing. A dead bulb or a slipped timer quietly costs you eggs for weeks. Nche checks the lighting programme ran, every day.

Example reading · House B15 h 10 mof light yesterday · 50 min short
Sense 6 · Sound

A healthy flock has a sound.

Nche learns it for each house, so it notices when the hens go quiet, panic in the night because something got in, or start to cough.

Example reading · House B3× normalnoise at 2:14 AM
AI disease watch

Hears sickness before you can see it.

Respiratory disease often starts as a sound: a cough, a rattle, a sneeze in the dark. Nche’s AI knows what your healthy flock sounds like and flags the change the night it starts, often before birds look sick. It weighs sound together with water, heat and ammonia, so one odd reading doesn’t wake you for nothing.

The farm manager’s phone buzzes: row 3, cage 14. The sick hens are separated, and the vet is called, before the rest of the house catches it.

Screening support — not a substitute for a veterinarian.

Ammonia · House A
Ammonia has been climbing since 2 AM. Now 27 ppm. Open the side curtains before feeding.
Curtains open. Thanks.
Heat · House A
32 °C and warming faster than yesterday. Turn on the fans and check the drinkers.
Health · House B
Breathing sounds changed overnight in row 3, near cage 14. Check those hens at first light.
When the light goes

Grid off. Nche on.

When power goes, the fans stop and the house heats up fast. Every Nche unit runs on its own battery pack, keeps reading, and tells you the moment the power is out, so the generator goes on in minutes, not hours.

For banks, insurers and programmes

Every farm you back, on one screen.

Lending to and insuring poultry farms is hard when all you have is the farmer’s word. Nche gives you sealed, time-stamped records of how each farm is really run, and early warning when one is heading for trouble. For insurers · For lenders

  • Price risk on real farm conditions
  • Check claims against the record
  • Spot farms that need support before they default
  • Show impact across a whole programme
What changes

Fewer surprises. Heavier birds. More eggs.

Most losses on a poultry farm start small and grow overnight. Nche catches them while they're still small.

How a pilot works

We come to you.

We work with larger farms and with the organisations behind them. Every installation starts with a visit.

  1. We visit your farmAnd assess each house: layout, flock size, power, network.
  2. We size the systemAbout one Nche unit for every 500 to 1,000 birds.
  3. We install and testAlerts reach the farm manager's phone from day one.
  4. We review 30 days togetherWhat it caught, what changed, what's next.

Know every house.
Every hour.

Farm owners, lenders, insurers and programme teams: message us to book a pilot.
